About

This group came about after asking the 'Back to School Programme' members what their goals were for the 6 week programme. There was a large majority of you who wanted to be more organised in the kitchen, by preparing food in advance so that when you come in from a busy day at work, you have a nice wholesome meal waiting for you.

I think the Slow Cooker is a really good piece of kitchen equipment and I regularly use it in the BBCwinter months. I feel paranoid about leaving the house with the oven on, however, I will prepare a meal in my Crockpot and leave it cooking all day and not worry. It's so lovely coming in on a cold evening and smelling the aroma of a nice meal waiting for you and not having to cook! Therefore, this group is where we can share recipes and perhaps try new things.

I'm a huge fan of soup, mainly because it's quick and easy to prepare and I can either use my soup maker or cook a massive pot on the stove with loads of vegetables and warm it up as needed. I know some of you feel that soup can only be eaten with bread, so I am going to be making my own sourdough bread once a week as I find it doesn't bloat me and there's something quite lovely about making bread.

I know food is a very personal thing, so please take as much on board as you choose to. The only thing I do ask, is that if you do try a recipe from this list, please write in the comments box below and let the members know how you got on.

If you do have any recipes that have worked for you and your family, please do share 🧡
